How Much Money Does Your Business Need?

As much as I can get. This would be the answer readily shouted out by most entrepreneurs. The fact is though, both over and underestimating the amount of capital needed to fund a business can have serious negative consequences. Underestimating what you need can cause problems ranging from having to go through the whole time consuming fund raising process again, to having to shut down the company because funds have run dry. Having to go back to the original investors and ask for more money often undermines the entrepreneur s credibility with the investors and can cause a significant dilution in the founder s ownership. Obtaining more than enough capital may seem like a blessing at first, but it can breed a lax attitude toward expense control. If you have it, spend it, is not an advisable motto for a new company. If the investment takes the form of equity, raising too much money means that the founder s share of the business was reduced more than was necessary--and this...

Renault Eyes Purchasing Saab

With the misfortunes of America s two largest automakers being trumpeted frequently on the news, it seems as if little attention is being paid to some of the other automakers out there. Speculation is that Renault wants a greater piece of the luxury car market, even beyond Nissan s luxury division, Infiniti. Would General Motors consider selling Saab to Renault or would the French automaker be better off looking elsewhere. Let s take a look at some options for Renault. It is no secret that the Swedish automaker hasn t been much of a hit for General Motors. Unlike the other Swedish automaker Volvo, itself owned by Ford, Saab has produced little benefit for GM since being brought into the fold in 1990. A clash in management styles hasn t helped with GM s line management style going up against Saab s egalitarian style...

The Heart-warming Gratitude

Thank you very much. I am obliged. Gratitude, a quality that is a must to live a good life. Gratitude, a quality that makes both the giver and the receiver happy. Somebody helped me and I forgot about it. Somebody helped me and I remembered it and said thanks. What is better. Many of us forget to thank. We take everything for granted. We take help as our right. How many of us express gratitude towards earth for allowing us to live on it. How many of us express gratitude towards sun for giving us its light and life to us. How many of us express gratitude to water for quenching our thirst. How many of us say thanks to flowers for making us happy. All of us take these for granted. We don t express gratitude to our own body to survive in this world. Gratitude has a great quality. It makes one who expresses gratitude feel very good. Try it and you will find your heart filling with warmth. Husband takes wife for granted and vice versa. People are forgetting the art of saying thank...
